Lumtz - Tesoros

Argentine composer, producer and sound artist Luciano Lamtzev has been exploring the quieter corners of electronic music as Lumtz since 2019. Based in the Patagonian city of Bariloche, his work combines field recordings, acoustic instrumentation and electronics, often drawing inspiration from the natural environment around him. Alongside his own music, Lamtzev is also an active figure within Argentina’s ambient scene through Bruma, the cassette label he runs from Bariloche.

Four years on from his last full length release, Lumtz returns with Tesoros, a deeply personal collection developed between 2023 and 2025. Across the album, recordings captured around Bariloche are folded into delicate electronics and acoustic elements, giving the album a strong sense of place while retaining the understated character of his earlier work.

Released through We All Speak In Poems, Tesoros, Spanish for ‘Treasures’, grew from what Lamtzev describes as an archive of walks, notes, conversations and small musical experiments. Birdsong, footsteps, water and other environmental sounds surface throughout, becoming part of the music rather than simply providing a backdrop.

The album features 16 tracks of delicate, textured soundscapes that fall somewhere between Brian Eno, William Basinski and perhaps the more ambient experimental side of Four Tet’s sound, with glitchy electronics and natural sounds nestling against delicate thumb pianos and endlessly looping textures.

The tracks are a mix of short ambient sketches alongside longer, more ‘songlike’ structures that expand the soundscapes into more developed pieces, such as playa serena, where textures of delayed arpeggios drift in and out over the sounds of crashing waves and gentle melodies.

There are several guest appearances throughout the album, including aili, MAQ, Juana Aguirre, Eric Olsen, El Espacio Entre Las Cosas, Alaskan Tapes, and Lucía Masnatta &

AEMIA.

The final track, un camino luminoso, featuring Lucía Masnatta & AEMIA, features the album’s only vocals, bringing a gentle human presence to the record before slowly fading into its final moments.

What Lamtzev has created with Tesoros is a captivating window into the sounds, journeys and observations that have shaped his world over the past few years, making for a deeply immersive experience that is a joy to get lost in.

Tesoros is available now as both a digital download and vinyl LP from on Bandcamp
