Mondo Love and Betrayal return with their second single, ‘Your Latest’, a slice of slick Balearic synth pop channeling the classic 80s sound of Shep Pettibone and the Pet Shop Boys.

‘Your Latest’ is the new single from Mondo Love and Betrayal, the collaborative project of Neil ‘Nail’ Tolliday of Bent and singer songwriter Henry Claude Scott.
It is the second release from their self titled debut on NuNorthern Soul, due for release in September, and combines the duo’s sharp songwriting with a slick, Balearic pop sound. Where their debut single ‘Correspondence’ set the tone for the forthcoming LP, ‘Your Latest’ pushes things further, with vocals and production that beautifully echo the proto house sounds of late 80s Pet Shop Boys and Shep Pettibone.
Lyrically, ‘Your Latest’ casts a wry eye over modern creative culture, with Scott’s delivery echoing Neil Tennant’s storytelling style over the track’s gentle pads and synths, before being joined by falsetto harmonies, arps and pianos for the climax.
Support has already come from names including Bill Brewster, PBR Streetgang, Faze Action, Eric Duncan, Massimiliano Pagliara and Crazy P, with DJs and selectors picking up on its blend of classic songwriting, electronic soul and sunset sophistication.
The album cannot come soon enough, but for now ‘Your Latest’ is available as a digital download via Bandcamp.
