The Electric Disco.

Statues return this month with a killer new EP on the ever-excellent eclectics, marking the label’s first release in three years.
The EP features two original tracks from Bradley Lucke and Mark Crooks alongside two remixes from North Of The Island (Neil Scott) , each track taking the listener in different direction, drifting through synth-laden balearic soundscapes, chugging guitars, and blissed-out, stoned grooves, all held together with that unmistakeable Statues sound.
The EP opens with Pilina, a lush journey through ambient electronica. Cinematic washes and gentle beats provide the backdrop as Greg Meehan’s laid-back saxophone drifts effortlessly through the mix, alongside the shimmering synths and softly strummed guitars, all evoking the tranquility of a Balearic sunset.
The first of the remixes see's Neil Scott (NOTI) beef up the beats up on Pilina, transforming it into an early evening dancefloor groover.
A throbbing 303 and looping synths bubble under the surface, as the sax line, guitars and jazzy keys tease in and out of the track, keeping the vibe heads down and rolling.
Ballet, the second original track from Statues on the EP, see's them stepping up the tempo slightly, as they set their sites on those blissed out early morning moments under the disco ball.
Flutes and delayed Spanish guitars glide over a hypnotic percussive groove that slowly builds over a chugging bassline and a searing electric guitar lead that plays in counterpoint to the tracks tranquil balearic melodies.
